Hi Friends,

My name is Miracle. I was born prematurely at just 22 weeks gestation. That means when I was born my mom had been pregnant for about 5 months. I weighed 14 ounces, not even a pound! The term used for babies like me is "micro-preemie". I've been told that I was so small that I could fit in the palm of a hand! With my gestational age and low birth weight, the doctors said I had a 2% chance of survival. My chance of survival was so small that they asked my mother if she even wanted to try. Can you imagine that?

I'm so grateful that she said "Yes". I spent 114 days in the NICU at Hurley Medical Center and I  had many health issues. I was diagnosed with lung disease, a stage 3/4 brain bleed, seizures along with my many other obstacles. I was fighting for my life every single day. But through faith, I made it!

Not only did I survive, I’ve grown into a strong, smart, and happy girl who wants to inspire the world to believe that miracles are real.

Today, I’m in 6th grade at Michigan International Prep School and I get mostly A’s. I love to read and I like learning and  teaching myself new things! I taught myself how to speak and read Japanese because I’m super inspired by Japanese culture. I also play the piano and love expressing myself through music.

I’m a big sister to Brielle, and I take that role seriously. I love helping her and being someone she can look up to just like I want to be for other kids.

My mom always says my story gives hope to NICU parents who feel scared or unsure of what the future holds. And she’s right,   

I’m here to remind you that miracles do happen, and they happen every single day!
