Meet Miracle
Hi Friends,
My name is Miracle.
I was born prematurely at just 22 weeks gestation, when my mom had only been pregnant for about five months. I weighed just 14 ounces, not even one pound. Babies born as early and as small as I was are often called “micro-preemies.” I have been told that I was so tiny, I could fit in the palm of a hand.
Because of my gestational age and very low birth weight, doctors said I had only a 2% chance of survival. My chance was so small that they asked my mother if she even wanted to try.
I am so grateful that she said yes.
I spent 114 days in the NICU at Hurley Medical Center, fighting for my life every single day. During that time, I faced many serious health challenges, including lung disease, seizures, and a stage 3/4 brain bleed.
But through faith, love, excellent medical care, and a whole lot of fighting, I made it!
Not only did I survive, I have grown into a strong, smart, creative, and happy young lady who wants to inspire people all over the world to believe that miracles are real.
Today, I am in 8th grade at Michigan International Prep School, where I work hard and earn mostly A’s. I love reading, learning, and teaching myself new things. I taught myself how to speak and read Japanese because I am inspired by Japanese culture. I also play the piano, create music, and love expressing myself with music.
I am also a proud big sister to Brielle. I take that role seriously, and I love being someone she can look up to, just like I hope to be for other kids and families.
My mom always says that my story gives hope to NICU parents and others who may feel scared, overwhelmed, or unsure about what the future holds. I hope she is right.
My story is here to remind you that miracles do happen. Sometimes they happen in big, life-changing ways. Sometimes they happen quietly, one small step at a time.
My hope is that when you visit this website, you feel encouraged, uplifted, and reminded that no matter what you are facing, there is still room for hope.
Because miracles happen every single day.
With love,
💜 Miracle
